Analysis of resonances affecting stress levels in sanding brackets

Problem
During preliminary tests, the sanding brackets were observed to experience higher accelerations when the vehicle was running at a certain speed. This increase in acceleration levels could increase stress levels and eventually cause fatigue failures.
Aim
To determine stress levels in the sanding bracket at different running speeds with both the original bracket configuration and also considering an additional mass in order to modify the natural frequency. An impact test was also performed under stationary conditions in order to establish the frequency response function (FRF).
Results
The stress levels were measured and both solutions compared.
